I can successfully ssh into my remote server, but after a time period the 
system closes the connection, and I receive this error in my system log:
sshd[154746]" [ID 800047 auth.crit] fatal: Timeout before authenticaiton for 
<IP address>

Sounds like the login timer isn't being cleared after login, but I'm not sure
how that could happen.

Are you sure that the error messages correspond to the PIDs of the sshd's that
are handling the connection that closes?

Could you please tell us what option OpenSSH was built with, and what options
are set in sshd_config.

Change all RESOLVED bug to CLOSED with the exception of the ones fixed post-4.4.
