I have a suggestion to embed the compile time (configure) options in binary executable and print them with certain command line options. This will be useful for the users when sending bugs/problems.

If this enhancement is accepted I can send a patch for it.

While this could help us debugging occasionally, I don't want to uglify the default usage output and certainly don't want to use up a scarce commandline flag.
