Description Iain Morgan 2007-05-05 10:01:49 AEST
This bug is intended to raise the priority and formalize the
issues surrounding file transfer performance on high BDP networks.

The performance of file transfers over high BPD networks using OpenSSH
has been know to be an issue for several years now. One patch
that is known to address this issue is the HPN-SSH patch
(http://www.psc.edu/networking/projects/hpn-ssh)

We have been using another patch, proposed by Markus Freidl
(http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=openssh-unix-dev&m=110961193801798&w=2)

It would be greatly appreciated if either a subset of the HPN patch or
Markus Freidl's patch, possibly with some of the scp-specific
improvements from the HPN patch could be incorporated into the
mainstream OpenSSH distribution in the near future.

Thank you

This change has just been committed and will be in 4.7.

     [channels.h]
increase default channel windows; ok djm

It's a variant of the patch proposed by Markus mentioned above.
