Attached is a patch for building OpenSSH 4.7p1 on Mac OS X.

This patch keeps sshd from logging to the console.

What happens to a given syslog facility is very platform specific.

Changing the default is likely to have undesirable and/or surprising effects on other platforms so I think you'll have to keep this one as a local change.
