Description Scall 2014-10-20 02:31:32 AEDT
This is an enhancement request to add two switches in the configure script to give users the possibility to install client or server related files only. Please see also: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=525776

I do not understand the USE switch they are talking about, but having make options (if not there already) such as: client, server, install_client, install_server and the default continues to be both "sounds nice" if not too much effort is involved.

IMO it's very easy for packaging script that build OpenSSH to choose what subsets of the binaries and supporting files to install. For example Debian and Redhat have been doing this for >10 years. I don't think it's necessary to add this to our build infrastructure, sorry.
